2025 Speaker Summit
Due to its success in 2024, the GamesUR Speaker Series is returning this year for 2025!
While work is underway for an in-person event to be held in 2026, we’ll be bringing you a week of online talks by industry experts accompanied by live watch parties and Q&A sessions – all completely free!
How does it work?
Our GamesUR Speaker Series is a week-long event highlighting various speakers via asynchronous uploaded talks to the GURSIG YouTube channel with scheduled watch parties and Q&As with speakers hosted in the Discord.
When is it?
The series will kick off Monday December 1st and run through Friday December 5th. We will be highlighting up to 10 speakers’ talks throughout that time and will schedule watch parties and Q&A sessions to accommodate as many time zones as possible, depending on the speaker availability.
How do I attend?
Stay tuned on Discord for announcements on when and where to catch the content.
How do I submit to be a speaker?
Submit your talk by Friday, October 10th through this link.
Please be aware of the series dates kicking off December 1st. We are aware this is a short timeline and appreciate your patience and understanding. If accepted, the deadline for videos is Monday, November 10th.
If you are interested in preparing your talk, keep in mind these guidelines:
- You will be required to provide a recording of yourself presenting your talk to be uploaded to our YouTube channel.
- (Optional attendance) A watch party will be scheduled where you can join in the chat with others watching it live and answer their questions on the fly.
- (Required attendance) Q&A session(s) will be booked following watch parties for you to answer questions of the attendees
- Talk formats will be either 25 or 50-minute presentations
Your submission must include:
- Submitter name(s) and organizational affiliations
- Desired duration of presentation (20 mins or 50 mins)
- Intended audience level
- Talk title
- The outline – must be at least 150 words (maximum 500 words)
- 3 Content labels – think 3 keywords to explain your talk (e.g.; Methods, Analytics, Case Study, Post-Mortem, etc.)
- Speaker info – brief description about yourself!
- Any requests/accommodations
- Consent to record/document your presentation
